UP-AND-COMING STUFF;;
31/10 RE-OPENING OF DOGSONG!
Season;; Winter.
Temperature;; Ranging from 7 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit during the day.
Changes;; On September Ninth.
Breeding;; Yes.
Birthing;; No.
Info;; The temperatures have dropped, but snow is not a common thing throughout the lands. Instead, Rain and Fog seem to be more common this season. The air is usually pretty chilly during the day, and especially at night. Many of the canines should be looking for Winter sheleters and packs or other canines to stay with. Remember, while food is sarce, it is always easier to survive the cold season with others. However, it means that breeding is officially open and birthing will be coming up next month!
______ OF THE MOMENT;;
CREDITS;;
The original idea of Dogsong is copyrighted to Alex, the wonderful creator of everything that Dogsong is. She also made a skin, the boards, rules, and banners. All the title images were made by the wonderful Guin. Also, thanks to Moon and all the others that helped with Boards and anything else. All credits goes to those few for Dogsong. Final thanks goes to Tsavo who took care of this site till she had to tend to her commitments.
Dogsong gives full credit to the photographers for all the images used on this site. Characters are copyrighted to their creators and we will not put up with copy-cats aka stealer's. If you are caught stealing ANYTHING from Dogsong, you will be hunted down. ;D
activity checks, contests, tryouts, very important news... it's all here. you might want to check back often; though there really isn't a need since everything under here is put as an announcement! [ -cough- staff! -cough- ]
this place is covered in spiderwebs. it's a good fighting spot, unless you suddenly sprout wings and try to fly. you'd be lucky to get out of here alive, as it's not really a nice place to go and truly evil animals seem to come here pretty often. though, once or twice, an innocent animal can come here and manage to get out alive... dragging spiderwebs along with it.
the rock piles here create all sorts of dens, and many of the Mooners live here because of the little caves, but it is near the freelands, making some a little nervious to stay here. it can be a great place if you are trying to get exercise, especially if you choose to try and climb the great Green Boulder, as it is completely covered in moss.
perhaps the only romantic spot in the Moonlands. these caves are dotted all over the cliffs, and at first seem like normal caves. however, at night, if you venture inside, you will see that they aren't normal. inside, there is a certain kind of rock - maybe marble, or crystal, as some think - that glows softly. it lights up the whole place with a whiteish tint.... a magical place.
this place was nicknamed 'Pollution Lake' by the Mooners, and properly named at that. the water here is thin and slimy; slipping through your paws and making your coat all oily and slick. the water is a murkey brown, clouded with dust and who knows what. oh, and boy, does it smell! it seems as if the only ones that really come near this lake any more, are committing murder or dumping bodies.
the black road is the only paved road out of Dogsong. this is where the Moonlands begin, upon this black tar, so if your a Mooner looking for acceptance, look no further. the land surrounding the road is desolate and desert-like; nothing really worth describing.
the church is old, no doubt about that. none of it has collapsed yet, though it seems it might at any second. there is a huge steeple at the top, overgrown with weeds and moss. the whole church looks like a giant green box. weeds snake in from the ground and up in the cracks of the wood floor, covering the long, wooden benches. it's a usually quiet and peaceful place.
chuck's is an old, abandoned grocery store, obviously. the building is small and made of smooth, white marble, though half the building has caved. any food left is now long gone, but there are plenty of dark hiding places if you need a place to stay. however, you must be careful - there's shards of glass and sharp rocks coating the tile floors.
where it all began... some think that visiting the old, rotting lab is spookey, so most stay away, although some don't care. the building itself is huge, and is made of giant sheets of rusted old metal. since the professor's death, there are broken test tubes and such all over the floor, as well as blood stains. the building looks like it could collapse at any moment.
prong beach is really a beautiful place. it's small, but no one seems to notice anymore and since the humans left, the beach is clean, and the water safe to drink from. normally, the waves aren't so high, but on the occasionally windy day, they can reach up to three feet. the lake isn't very big, either, the avergae dog can almost see across, but it's a beach, anyways.
this old dirt path is the only way out of the Sunlands - and the only way in. it appears to run along for miles, though no one ever goes more than a mile out from this road. all the lands surrounding it are old fields, the soil rich and fertile from farming. there's nothing much to do here, though if you're a new dog seeking acceptance...
named after the thousands of cattails that cover the marsh, Cattail Marsh isn't a very nice place to be in. it's basically mud, all the way around. icky, brown goop. there are little islands of grass here and there, but other than it, you have to wade through it. though the mud goes up to most dogs' ankles, it's very sticky and will cling to anything.
this is a small forest, but a beautiful one. the trees are huge, monsterous, with wide trunks and thousands of leaves. any rock found here is white, glittering brilliantly in the sunlight. a special place indeed.
ah, you've stepped into Carnation Hills. it's beautiful, with white flowers everywhere. a few colours are here and there, but it's mostly white, and sometimes it makes you feel as if you've stepped into heaven. though that does seem quite true, wait untill the sun sets. the flowers take on a new colour and it's one of the most romantic spots in the Sunlands.
really, Amber Pond seems like it is nothing more than a puddle. it's only about nine feet in diameter, and at it's deepest point, only about four feet deep. however, the water is clean enough to drink from and there's an occasional fish. surrounding it is a small bunch of bushes and trees, any beyond that, is the Marble Forest.
if you have a lot of points, you can buy things here with them. :3 including, custom titles, colorful names, and even an immortal dog! don't let those points burn a hole in your pocket!
